    then we will have to find ways around that problem. We could apply every other anti aging therapies but if our telomeres are short we won’t make out too well.

    well, if telomere lenght plays a role in determining maximum lifespan, regardless of its role on the aging process by itself, its still worthwhile research

    Interesting talk. However, I am very ceptical about telomerase activators as anti-aging agents. Though telomerase is not suficient to cause cancer, and indeed telomere shortenning favors carcinogenesis due to increase in genetic instability, we cannot ignore that immortalization is one of the major steps required to transformed cells became fully malignant. I am very anxious to follow the further developments of these ideas.
